Safeguarding in Xavier Catholic Education Trust is underpinned by our aim, to provide the children in our care with the best possible education within a caring and supportive Catholic ethos and our mission statement, striving towards excellence together.

Xavier Catholic Education Trust is totally committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and we expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.

We understand our legal duties as per the Children Act (1989 & 2004); Education Act (2002) Section 175 and 157; Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2024); and Working Together to Safeguard Children (December 2023).

Our Local Governing Bodies are updated termly about safeguarding policies and practices by the Headteacher.

Xavier Catholic Education Trust’s Safeguarding Compliance Director provides a termly report on safeguarding policies and practices to the Board of Directors.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our model Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy (please click the link below) or a hard copy can be provided upon request. Each school has its own Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, based on the model policy, reflecting the individual context of each school.

Surrey Children's Single Point of Access (C-SPA)

The C-SPA team acts as the front door to children's services in Surrey and provides direct information, advice and guidance about where and how to find the appropriate support for children and families.
